special eventsDear friends and quilters! A book has many chapters and every story has an ending. And so, with this letter I wish to share with you that the Quilters' Jewel story will be coming to an end on August 31, 2010. I wish I could tell each one of you personally over a cup of coffee or tea. I’m both excited and a little sad to leave this amazing quilt shop business to someone else. The past 6 years have been an incredible journey, to say the least, and this is ALL due to you, my most wonderful friends and customers. The chapters in my book would contain many very interesting titles too numerous to mention. Throughout the book, the story would ALWAYS reflect the absolutely super fantastic and best customers that the Quilters' Jewel has had!!! To say good-bye to many of you, knowing that our paths may never cross again, brings me much sadness. I thank each and every one of you who has given me such affirmation in so many ways with your words of encouragement through e-mails or personal comments. Thank you for the many times you have asked “how are things going on the farm?”. You have no idea how much that question meant to me, especially when we knew it would be another difficult year on the farm. It is with great pleasure that I announce that Alvina Derksen (staff person) and her husband Ernnie have purchased my inventory and you will continue to have a top notch quilt store to come to called “Quilters’ Den”.!!! You have supported me so graciously over these past 6 years and my hopes and prayers are that you will do the same for Alvina. She will take you on sewing machine journeys that I could never have taken you on!!! Congratulations Alvina and all the best success to you and Ernnie!!
